Department ofDrawing
Activities
The Department of Drawing provides students with a solid foundation in artistic and digital skills, which form an essential part of a contemporary architect’s professional toolkit. Instruction includes both classical visual arts techniques (drawing, painting, modeling, printmaking) and advanced digital tools and presentation methods, including parametric design and work in BIM environments.
The institute aims to foster visual literacy and creative expression across all years of study. Studio and exhibition activities are also of great importance—students participate in workshops, presentations, and public exhibitions. The institute supports interdisciplinary projects and collaborates with cultural institutions, schools, and community centers.
In terms of research, the institute focuses on the development of teaching methods, the support of artistic creation, and visual communication in architecture. As part of the planned restructuring of the faculty, it is set to become part of a broader Institute of Architectural Media, which will interconnect artistic, technological, and communication aspects of architectural education and research.
The Institute of Drawing contributes to improving the quality of architectural education by developing fundamental skills in spatial perception, material handling, model-making, and project presentation.
