Activities
The Institute of Design is the primary hub for studio-based education at the faculty. It focuses on architectural design in its full scope—from urban-scale planning to the details of construction. Emphasis is placed on design education as a complex process that merges aesthetic quality with functionality, context, and social relevance.
Students are taught to approach design as an open and at the same time responsible creative process. Instruction is led by practicing architects, combining the academic environment with real professional experience. The institute integrates research through the “research by design” methodology and participates in commissioned projects with municipalities, cities, and other partners.
The goal of the institute is to educate architects who are capable of thinking across various scales, understanding social challenges, and designing environments that respect cultural, ecological, and economic aspects.
