Activities

The Institute of Spatial Design focuses on teaching and research in architectural and interior design, including the direct implementation of projects using the design-build method. From their first year, students design and construct real objects, enabling them to acquire practical skills and understand the interconnections between design, materials, and production.

The institute’s research activities concentrate on landscape design, brownfield regeneration, flood protection measures, and public space. It is also active in inclusive design, education in traditional craft techniques, and the study of the relationship between architecture and lighting design.

Teaching combines studio work with field research and public presentations. The institute fosters cooperation with municipalities, cultural institutions, and international partners, and participates in projects with a direct social impact. As part of the planned faculty restructuring, it is expected to merge with the Institute of Architecture and the Institute of Urbanism and Landscape Architecture.
