Adore – Klára Mikešová / Exhibition opening at Gallery mini

Glass artist, designer and interior architect Klára Mikešová will start the new exhibition cycle at Gallery mini with her solo exhibition of the glass collection Adore. We cordially invite you to the opening of the exhibition, which will take place on May 6 at 4:00 PM in the Gallery mini.

"Glass is an amazing material. It changes its appearance over the course of the day and also undergoes a change by mirroring its surroundings. It will always be different, never the same. Capturing the essence of glass is the difficult task of a lifetime.”

Klára Mikešová is a glass artist, product designer and interior architect. He designs small objects, such as jewelry, as well as medium-sized objects (vases, bowls, lamps) up to huge light sculptures and entire interiors. The common denominator of her work is glass. She studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University in Prague under the guidance of Patrik Kotas and subsequently at the Faculty of Art and Architecture of TUL in Liberec under the guidance of Bořek Šípek. After her studies, she became a part of Preciosa Lighting – the former Lustra Kamenický Šenov, in the position of designer of bespoke lighting installations made of Czech crystal. She was able to observe first-hand the work of masters at the smelter, in the grinding shop and in the metal workshops.

The newly presented collection of hand-blown metallurgical objects by glass artist Klára Mikešová is based on historical patterns and transfers them to a modern concept. It gives rise to a new dimension of beauty. Finding a suitable material that would withstand the heat of molten enamel without change is not exactly easy. It's a bit of alchemy, searching, exploring and trying - a journey of trial and error. After all, such are often the procedures of the author's artistic creation. She likes when chance also plays a role in them, when the outcome cannot be determined in advance, and this is exactly what her new collection of hand-shaped metallurgical vases Adore is like.

The exhibition will take place from May 6 to June 1, 2024 in Galeria mini at Poříčí 5, 639 00 Brno-střed.

The opening with an opening speech will take place on Monday, May 6, 2024 from 4 p.m.
