BUT encourages academics and students to register an ORCID identifier
Do you have your own ORCID aka Open Researcher and Contribution ID? The Brno University of Technology encourages academics and students to establish an identifier that will help make your results in the field of science more visible and offer an easy way to uniquely link you, as an author, to your publications and scientific achievements. It also allows logging in to professional conferences and sharing university achievements.
Currently, any member of the academic community or student body can create a new ORCID identifier (if they do not already have one) or pair their BUT account with their account on ORCID.org.
Using ORCID will make it possible to identify authors from BUT for the purpose of importing data from WoS, Scopus, CrossRef, which is prepared by CVIS. For this, it is still necessary to enable ORCID to import data from these databases. Simplified instructions can also be found on the website of the Central Library. Another reason for the use of scientific identifiers for authors in the Czech Republic is the intention of the Czech government to use these services for the unambiguous identification of authors within IS R&D.
