lecture/ Wo|V|eN / COLLABORATIVE COLLECTIVE / SMALL SCALE ARCHITECTURE

We invite you to a lecture by the Slovak creative group WOVEN. The lecture will take place on Tuesday 29.11.2022 from 15:00 to 17:00 in the small auditorium A118 at the FA BUT within the course Architect in Practice. Like all lectures and discussions, this is a public event.

WO|V|EN is our shared platform for ideas. We are four architects (Anna Cséfalvay, Marianna Maczová, Danica Pišteková a Veronika Trnovská) with various experiences, but with a mutual interest in questioning and going beyond the limits of architecture, its conventional interpretations and understanding (some of our projects overlap with other mediums, such as textile, poetics or art installations). In 2010 we came up with the idea of a shared platform Woven Women, back then as students of the Architecture department at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. This is where our mutual friendship and professional bound started, and has been regularly interrupted by various academic and work related internships abroad (Amsterdam, Berlin, Budapest,Tallin, Plymouth, Copenhagen, Melbourne, Vienna, Zurich, etc.). From 2014 on we function as a non-governmental organization WOVEN. Since graduation our activities have been shaped by taking part in various projects, competitions, gallery installations, exhibition concepts and so on. Together with the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava in 2013 we started to organize an annual workshop for students of architecture and design, which focuses on building timber constructions on a one-to-one scale. The event runs under the name [1:1] Workshop. We have a broad range of experiences with implementing our ideas thanks to local as well as international workshops and projects, but our main ambition is to keep on seeking new experiences and wisdom.
